The first theme park in the Dominican Republic, Manatí Park is a 210-square kilometer (80-square-miles) home to at least 150 tropical species, including birds, reptiles, and mammals, from dolphins to horses. Centered in magnificent gardens abundant with orchids and tropical plants, children get to enjoy animal entertainment shows. The park also boasts cultural exhibits that offer a look into Dominican culture, folklore, and the artistry of the Taino Indians–the island’s first inhabitants, before the arrival of the Spanish.
